Laugh and Dance with Mashabela Galane at Carnival City

Comedy fans who appreciate straight-up, no-feelings-spared, raw comedy from the mouth of a man who tells it as it is will get all of this and more when Mashabela Galane hits the stage at Carnival City’s Bru’s this month.

Laugh and Dance is Carnival City’s latest offering of vernac comedy night sessions, presenting one local comedian at a time.  On 31 October Galane takes to the stage to drive comedy fans to hysterical laughter as he speaks about all things African.

This installment of jokes will see this Limpopo-born funnyman digging deeper into the day-to-day challenges the residents of Limpopo face, amongst other things. From their rental accommodation in the backrooms of Tembisa to the struggles of trying to speak Zulu, moving along to the suburbs of Jozi and eventually becoming homeowners and reaching independence.

Hailing from Polokwane, this laugh-a-minute funny man says that he is generally a bit of an introvert. It was at school that he realized that, when making fun of his teachers and fellow-pupils, people found him hilarious. So, he decided to pursue comedy on stage with a microphone.

MC’ing Rock the Mother Tongue which sold out at Carnival City last year, was one of this dynamic jokester’s career highlights.  With a passion for interacting with his audience and making people laugh, Mashabela says that comedy is the perfect means to address serious issues that others don’t want to touch on, subtly addressing them through laughter.

Tickets to this show cost R150 per person and are available from Computicket. The show starts at 20h00. No Under 18’s are allowed.
