Veganuary is more than a mouthful, it’s a month of culinary adventure that comes to you and it’s taking over South Africa.

 

Every January, people all over the world start the new year with a plant-based diet for a month or more in a campaign called “Veganuary”. Vegan lifestyle is a commitment to yourself, animals, and the earth and the Veganuary campaign’s glowing supporters include well-known personalities like actor Joaquin Phoenix, who thinks global and personal issues are no joke.

Southern African foodie, Chef Cola, founder of African Vegan on a Budget and feeder of the all-female wildlife conservation unit, Akashinga, is one hundred percent on board.

“Veganuary is a very important tool and movement to spread the vegan message to all people across the globe for environmental, animal welfare, health ” notes the talented chef whose vegan fair put her in the Zimbabwean top ten list.

 

She’s flanked by Angelique Gerber Potgieter, South African actress, wellness and beauty influencer, as well as wife to rugby star and former Springbok player, Jacques Potgieter.

“I feel so healthy since going vegan 5 years ago and I feel grateful that my eyes were opened and made aware of what is going on around us!” she says, “I know that there are many good people out there who want to be a part of the change!”
