Tickets selling fast for popular Hartenbos In Afrikaans concert series

With just a few days until the third annual HARTENBOS IN AFRIKAANS concert series kicks off – and considering the resounding success of its predecessors, which were attended by more than 30 000 spectators – now is the time to secure your tickets to avoid disappointment!

Bringing together the best live music and latest hits of your favourite artists at the ATKV Amphitheatre Hartenbos for five days throughout the festive season, this year’s event once again promises to offer something for every music taste and preference and is not to be missed.

According to Jacomien de Villiers, managing director of In Afrikaans, the aim of the concert series is to bring hope and change people’s lives. “We want to capture many special moments this year that will really touch people’s hearts.”

This year’s star-studded line-up promises to do exactly that! Artists set to perform include, among others, Jo Black, Robbie Wessels, Spoegwolf, Karen Zoid, Early B, Refentse, Appel, Leah, Kurt Darren, Elandré, Francois van Coke, Jan Bloukaas and Danny Smoke.

A number of popular artists attend HARTENBOS IN AFRIKAANS every year, one of whom is Brendan Peyper. “Fans can look forward to enjoying themselves and hearing good Afrikaans music. This is my second time at HARTENBOS IN AFRIKAANS and it’s always a highlight to share a stage with other talented artists. I exercise in Afrikaans, I eat in Afrikaans and I am proudly Afrikaans,” he says.

Early B, another festival favourite, believes that the event is one of the best he has ever participated in. “I am the smallest, biggest ball of energy set to appear on stage and promise to blow everyone away – that is the plan. I enjoy the energy of the crowd. Before you step onto the stage, you can hear everyone cheering. I am looking forward to HARTENBOS IN AFRIKAANS.”

The 2019 HARTENBOS IN AFRIKAANS programme is as follows:

  • 21 December at 19:30 – DANS IN AFRIKAANS, featuring Juanita du Plessis, Franja du Plessis, Ruan Josh, Brendan Peyper, Juan Boucher, Pieter Koen and Appel.

  • 31 December at 19:00 – VARSTRAP IN AFRIKAANS, featuring Klipwerf-orkes, Die Ventertjies and Kosie Beukes.

HARTENBOS IN AFRIKAANS is always a highlight on my calendar and this year I am sharing the stage with one of my best friends; Katinka. It is going to be legendary and people need to remember their sunscreen,” adds Jan Bloukaas.

Tickets for the shows are now available at www.itickets.co.za. Tickets will also be available at the gate prior to each show. Prices start from R99 and children under six enter for free.

In addition to the spectacular music, there will also be several food and drink stalls, other exhibitors and entertainment for the kids. Spectators can also look forward to some exclusive surprises and announcements during the festivities. (Audience members must take note that own food and drinks are not allowed.)

What started as a dream has transformed into an annual highlight for holidaymakers and Garden Route residents. Conceived by Inhoud Huis Musiek’s Johan Vorster and Jacomien de Villiers with the support of the In Afrikaans team, the IN AFRIKAANS HARTENBOS concert series is now synonymous with good music, a good time, and a good way to bid farewell to a long and challenging year.
