Tatum Rush Releases Video For New Single “Slow Down”

You could run into a show of American/Swiss-Italian songwriter, producer, performer and singer Tatum Rush at an underground club in New York, sure, but quite possibly also at a pompous rooftop party at an 18th century estate in Rome, depending on your standing. It’s Pop, it’s contemporary R&B, it’s Nu-Disco, some describe him as Ricky Martin-meets-Osho in a Saudi Arabian desert. Tatum works between Paris, Milan, Berlin and Lausanne.

Following the release of ‘Mini Girls’ — an EP that surfed over the stylistic limits of R&B, Pop and Disco, Tatum Rush drops the single ‘SLOWDOWN’, a classy Latin/Pop/Soul banger in English and Spanish so catchy it will drag you to the beaches of Miami by the pants.

Slow Down features vocalist Pilar, Tatum Rush’s 2019 discovery. They met each other on the Camino de Santiago, where after a couple of days of walking the two abruptly decided to abandon their pilgrimage project and to fly to Tatum’s studio in Lausanne, where Pilar’s voice was recorded for the absolute first time, on the track “Slowdown”. Pilar is currently preparing her debut EP of original songs.
Accompanying the track is a hilarious video directed by Parisian director Aliosha Cheyko and actor Jacopo Martini. The idea was to shoot the craziest videoclip ever shot in the history of the city of Benidorm, the Spanish Las Vegas of the Brits. The experience turned out to be a 1-week Fear and Loathing-style odyssey through trashy pubs, wild Brits, incredibly nice old people, abandoned skyscrapers and very few security guards.

Tatum Rush comments of the inspiration behind the video, “Dumped by the music video director, the artist is forced to hire a new director last minute. Penniless, the film crew goes to a Costa Blanca seaside resort, off-season. The behind-the-scenes music video turns into a disaster: despite an unstable director, the featuring artist quitting the shoot and drunk British tourists, this joyful team of “guerilla filmmakers” gets carried away on a tsunami of enthusiasm.”
