After a decade-long introspective hiatus, Electro-Rebel pioneers COLORFIELDS are all set to launch their brand new collection of songs on 23 March 2018 at Cafe Roux Noordhoek Farm Village. With guest appearances by some of the outstanding talents who have contributed to the recording, dubbalicious vibes by DJ Pure, psychedelic visuals by JP Pretorious and sound engineered by Alex Bozas, this evening is sure to be one for the memory banks. Revisited and improved songs from the 1997 debut album Incidents will be on offer, as well as a few surprises! In fact, it’s gonna be the album launch of the decade!
COLORFIELDS is a live electro act from Cape Town, founded by Zap Dragons and Streaks drummer Ash Read. Combining elements of electronic dance music with an authentically live rhythmic core, the COLORFIELDS sound draws inspiration from a wide variety of musical genres – ranging from the swirling psychedelic rock of classic bands like Pink Floyd to the live dance giants, Faithless, from the edgy sonic trip-hop of Massive Attack to dub and tribal World music beats – while the thought provoking content and social commentary draws much inspiration from Agorist philosophy. The line-up includes legendary bass player Schalk Joubert, guitar phenom Ben Badenhorst and Kerstie Read on Synth, violin and vox.
