Buoyed by the sellout success of Francois van Coke & Vriende at the Sun Arena, Time Square in 2018, he returns with an even bigger lineup of old and new friends on 18 October 2019. He will also use the concert to introduce his fans to his third solo album, Dagdrome in Suburbia (Daydreaming in Suburbia).
The new album features collaborations with two of the new friends in the lineup for Francois van Coke & Vriende next month; Riky Rick and Danie du Toit, the frontman for Spoegwolf. These brand new collaborations will be performed live for the first time at the Sun Arena. Riana Nel is another new addition to the show this year and also performed at the Cape Town leg of Francois van Coke & Vriende in May.
Artists and bands who are back for an encore for Francois van Coke & Vriende at the Sun Arena are Die Heuwels Fantasties, Riky Rick, Jack Parow, Early B, Fokofpolisiekar, Riana Nel, Danie du Toit (Spoegwolf), Laudo Liebenberg (aKING), Van Coke Kartel, Arno Carstens and Coenie de Villiers.
The backbone of the show will be Francois and his band, Die Gevaar, performing various old and new songs from his solo career with the Die Vriende joining them on stage to perform the anthems that they created together, as well as hits from their own catalogues. The 120-minute rock spectacular is backed up by world class technical production by AMP Events.
“Francois van Coke & Vriende 2018 in Pretoria was the highlight of my career. It was an insane experience. The energy was tangible. My friends were superb and the overwhelming support and love was enormous. This year we are doing the same with old and new friends. The two-hour show will be packed with our most popular songs and brand new collaborations,” says Francois.
Tickets cost Between R250 and R295 at Computicket.
