Cape Town Comedy Club is pleased to announce JAZZ JAM SESSIONS with The Alvin Dyers Trio every Tuesday from 8 October 2019. The trio consists of Alvin Dyers (guitar), Roy Davids (drums) and Valentino Europa (bass).
‘Jazz guitarist and educator, Alvin Dyers was born in Harfield Village, Cape Town, in 1953. He started playing guitar from the age of seven. He formed his first band called Sacred Legion with his equally talented brother, Errol Dyers. He also formed part of the group of musicians that played in Pacific Express in the ‘80s. Some of the musicians he has played with include other legends, for example Winston Mankunku, Ezra Ngcukana, Johnny Fourie and many more. He is currently a jazz guitar teacher at the University of Cape Town where he continues to nurture and inspire another generation of jazz musicians in the province’ – Extracted from whatsonincapetown.com
We are inviting all musicians to bring your instruments and join us for these open jam sessions. The programme is as follows: 1st set (trio performance), 2nd & 3rd sets (musicians jam).
Tickets are R60 per person – available from any Computicket outlet or Shoprite, Checkers stores, or at the door (subject to availability). No under 18’s.
Cape Town Comedy Club, the only dedicated comedy venue in the Western Cape is a dinner theatre and has a full restaurant and bar available. Limited pizza only menu available on jazz nights.
Show Times: Starts 8.30pm. Dinner from 6pm (limited pizza only menu).
