Tasché (19) has been stealing hearts since the blind audition rounds of the third season of The Voice SA. With her world-class voice and captivating performances, she became the first female winner of this reality TV series just after her 19th birthday, also making her the youngest winner of The Voice SA.
Since the finale, this young woman with her husky voice, has performed at big music events (Liefde By Die Dam, Francois van Coke & Vriende and Rocking Stellies) and has released a successful debut single called Die een under the supervision of her mentor, Francois van Coke, who is also a co-producer.
This single, with Hunter Kennedy (Die Heuwels Fantasties en Fokofpolisiekar) en Richard Onraet (Die Gevaar) as co-writers, quickly climbed the charts and the music video has been watched by thousands.

The newcomer is back in the limelight with her very first EP, TASCHÉ, and it promises to give listeners goosebumps all over. There are two original songs and four soulful covers of existing hits such as Lisa se klavier, Ek skyn(heilig), Vier seisoene kind (featuring Francois van Coke) and Bittermaan (featuring Danie du Toit from Spoegwolf).
The EP was recorded at Van Coke Studios in Cape Town and it features her second original song, Tweedehandse hart which will blow fans away. “It was incredible to stand behind the microphone again and to sing how I wanted to sing, to do my own thing and to play around with what we were planning to do with the EP,” Tasché says.

TASCHÉ EXPLAINS HER CHOICE OF COVERS
“I am a huge fan of Spoegwolf and especially Danie du Toit’s style of writing and the emotion he portrays when he sings and performs. Bittermaan just spoke to me and it was a song which I really wanted to cover and I tried my best to capture the emotion behind the song.”
Vier seisoene kind:
“Francois van Coke wanted to sing something with me, so he proposed Gian Groen’s Vier seisoene kind. I’ve known this song for a long time and I think it’s an Afrikaans gem! It’s written sooo well and the lyrics are brilliant.”
Lisa se klavier:
“It all started with this cover. This is the song that made Francois my coach of The Voice and that lead to my victory! It just had to be on my first release!”
“I really wanted to cover something by my The Voice coach and his Fokofpolisiekar band members. In a way to thank them for everything that they have done for me and continue to do.
Since my return from The Voice, Jaco Venter (Fokofpolisiekar’s drummer) took my first studio photo’s, Hunter Kennedy (Fokofpolisiekar’s guitar player) helped me to write Die een and Tweedehandse hart and Wynand Myburgh (Fokofpolisiekar’s bassist) is my manager. They are legends!”
THE ORIGINAL ARTISTS FEEDBACK ABOUT TASCHÉ’S COVERS:
Bittermaan – “What an honour to hear a song, not the way I heard it when I wrote it, but how God heard it when it was written.” – Danie du Toit
Vier seisoene kind – “Apart from my versions, there are more than 10 covers of this song which I know of. This is, without a doubt, my favourite.” – Gian Groen
Lisa se klavier – “Enormous production and beautiful strong voice! I can now retire and stop singing that song!” – Koos Kombuis
Ek skyn(heilig): “This is by far the best Fokofpolisiekar cover yet. I always knew that Tasché would be able to convey the emotion of this song sincerely.” – Francois van Coke
Tasché believes that music should speak to the heart and it can be felt with every meaningful lyric she soulfully portrays on this EP. TASCHÉ is definitely going to cause a stir in the music industry and is a keepsake without which no music collection would be complete.
