TikTok community comes together to celebrate Mandela Day through the power of dance

It is usually around this time of the year that South Africans start thinking about how they can give back for their 67 minutes on Mandela Day.
This year might look different because of social distancing but TikTok is keeping everyone’s creative spirit alive with #MadibaJive, a challenge encouraging the nation, no matter where you live or how old you are, to get up and dance in celebration of former President Nelson Mandela.
The challenge name comes from the famous “Madiba Dance” – a dance move he used to perform that required little effort but a big smile.
In addition to showing off their dance moves, users are asked to encourage one another to do their 67 minutes of good however they can while using the specially-designed in-app sticker – it’s simply about impacting someone else’s life positively.
Get involved in 4 easy steps:
1. Take a look at the work of a few local creators for some inspiration.
