Bongani ‘Rheebongs’ Bonase Drops ‘Kasified’ His New Album Showcasing the Flipside of Township Lifestyle!

Rheebongs – a Cape Town rapper/producer born in Soweto and signed under Our Future Talent Management has blessed the streets with an amazing project titled Kasified which has been creating a massive buzz from the day it dropped! An outstanding work of art filled with creative melodies and accompanied by fascinating stories. This project features the likes of Flash Ikumkani, Kae Wax, Pro X, NanKOo and Pincode.

Rheebongs is also the Co-founder of M4M records – an independent label whose mission is to provide skill development to upcoming talented artists. “We are trying our utmost best to help as much artists as we can because the ultimate goal is for everyone’s music to be heard” – says Rheebongs.

The album, Kasified, showcases the flipside of a township lifestyle (iKasi) with tracks such as Wey Zakhona, Vice Versa and iLahle that create an intimate understanding of the storms people deal with on a daily basis. The project is also composed with vibey songs that get people moving.

Rheebongs has made it his mission to balance SA Hip-Hop and with Kasified, he has certified his position as a true versatile Rapper. The production of the Album was blessed by the legends such as Mananz, NYO, Dapanda and Wavy Beats.

His first solo album Gevaarlik was a smash hit on the streets of Cape town, stamping his authority as a lyricist to look out for. It didn’t take long before he got recognition, winning best song at Hip-Hop Kaslam Awards in 2012.

The following year Rheebongs released an EP entitled Top Notch. This EP became a pathway to new opportunities as Bozza.mobi offered him a digital distribution deal that made him one of the first ever Hip Hop artist from Cape Town to release music digitally. His EP got playlisted on Umhlobo Wenene FM, Bush Radio, Tru FM, Goodhope FM and many more.

Rheebongs accolades include; winning Kasi Music Kona Cipher 2014; Composing a Standard Bank campaign song in 2014; featured in the Top 10 New Comers Delight; Hype Magazine in 2015; Declared the King of Western Cape at (SAHHA) South African Hip Hop Awards in 2015; Opening performer at the Grahamstown Arts Festival; “Save the Rhino” campaign, and many more.
