Johannesburg Artist Sasa MSK Releases Emotional Double Debut

A soulful introduction to an artist redefining softness, healing, and emotional storytelling in contemporary South African music

Johannesburg Artist Sasa MSK Releases Emotional Double Debut

Emerging Johannesburg-based artist Sasa MSK officially steps into her debut era with the release of her first two singles, Ekhaya and Thulele – two emotionally rich records that introduce her voice, her world, and the beginning of a deeply personal musical journey.

Blending Three-step, Afro House, soulful Amapiano and R&B textures, Sasa MSK creates music that lives between vulnerability and rhythm – intimate songs that hold space for healing, reflection, and return.

Released together on Friday 8 May 2026, Ekhaya and Thulele explore two emotional states that exist side by side.

Ekhaya reflects on home not as a physical place, but as an emotional return to self – a search for grounding, belonging, and identity.

Thulele captures silence – the quiet internal moments where reflection replaces expression, and healing begins in stillness.

The release of Thulele was intentionally kept quiet – a surprise second drop hidden beside Ekhaya. Even in its name, which speaks to silence and stillness, the decision felt poetic. Rather than announcing everything loudly, Sasa chose to let the music reveal itself naturally.

The double debut became part of the story itself: home and silence arriving together. Together, the songs form a powerful introduction to Sasa MSK’s artistry: soft in sound, but intentional in message.

My music is about feeling deeply. t’s the kind of music you cry to, heal to, and still move to. These songs are pieces of me. A return to self, and an invitation for people to find themselves in the music too.” ~ Sasa MSK

Her journey began in church and later developed through youth choir spaces like YMH (Young Musical Healers), which later evolved into SEMA – environments that shaped her understanding of music not only as performance, but as healing and connection.

Currently studying at JSM Academy, Sasa is intentionally expanding her craft beyond vocals. She is developing her understanding of composition, music theory, and instrumentation. This, to strengthen both her songwriting and collaborative work across the industry.
