More About Piccaso The Visionary

Piccaso’s relationship with music began at an early age through the influence of his older brother, an avid house music collector whose passion filled their home with sound. Exposure to a wide range of music during his childhood sparked a deep curiosity and appreciation for the art form.

As he grew older, his brother introduced him to hip-hop through music videos played on a laptop while doing household chores. Artists such as Busta Rhymes, Drake, Slum Village, and Okmalumkoolkat became early inspirations. Beyond the music itself, he was captivated by the creativity, confidence, and lifestyle associated with the culture. These experiences would later shape his own artistic aspirations.

Piccaso wrote his first rap lyrics during primary school. While in Grade 6 or 7, the song, “Isamqe,” which featured okmalumkoolkat and Amadando inspired his exploration into storytelling through music, motivated by okmalumkoolkat‘s style and flow

His passion continued to develop throughout high school, where freestyle sessions and creative challenges with friends became a daily routine during break times. After school, the group would often gather near abandoned flats adjacent to a local police station, transforming the space into an unofficial recording environment where they could experiment and bring their ideas to life. Those early experiences taught him the value of creativity, consistency, and collaboration.

By Grade 11, Piccaso had taken a major step toward independence by learning how to produce and record his own music. Producing his own beats and developing his sound independently allowed him to shape his artistic vision on his own terms. From that point onward, music evolved from a passion into a lifelong pursuit. Ultimately becoming the foundation of the artist he is today.
