At its core, it’s about the need to escape, whether from a stagnant relationship or the monotony of everyday life, and the heady fantasy of running off in search of adventure, freedom and dangerous love.
“The image that ignited the song was Bonnie and Clyde. Not their crimes, but the fiery connection they shared. That raw, all‑or‑nothing devotion, wild and unshackled. My grandmother once told me that, in her late forties, settled and married, she used to fantasize about having an affair and riding off naked on horseback with a cowboy. Of course, she never did. She remained devoted to my grandfather until the end. I believe many of us harbour that same quiet longing. For freedom, for risk, for something that feels truly alive!”
