In 2008, the ADISTAR CONTROL 5 was born. Originally engineered for road stability with advanced FORMOTION technology, the Y2K performance icon returns reengineered for a new generation. More than just a retro runner.
Built on legacy and reborn for today, the reissued ADISTAR CONTROL 5 taps into adidas’ performance heritage. It features a durable rubber outsole, metallic overlays, and a mesh upper. The design blends retro style with functional technology.
A FORMOTION heel unit enhances stability. An ADIPRENE+ midsole and a midfoot torsion bar deliver high cushioning. An open mesh upper layered in Y2K-inspired silver metallic overlays completes the look.
CONTROL 5 brought to Life
Locally, the campaign is brought to life through a new generation of Originals. Rugby star Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu embodies the spirit of control and creativity on and off the field, representing a new wave of athletes redefining the game through individuality and confidence. Joining him is adidas’ latest signed partner, Ciza, a rising global voice redefining the sound of African music.
