About Mavisto & MuTeo
Hailing from the vibrant coastal city of Richards Bay in Kwa-Zulu Natal, South Africa, Mavisto and MuTeo have been well on their way to leaving a mark on the global dance scene.
Mavisto, born Nhlanzeko Dlamini, began his artistic exploration as a dancer and it was during his time participating in dance competitions that he realised his passion for music and music-making. His musical style is inspired by the likes of Black Coffee, Shimza, and Zakes Batwini.
MuTeo (Siphamandla Talent Mahlangu) showed interest in music from a young age and now as a producer and DJ, has looked at Prince Kaybee and King Monada as reference points musically. The pair crossed paths in 2017 at a music event where both of them performed. From that moment they decided to pursue music together as Mavisto and MuTeo based of their mutual admiration for their individual sounds.
Since becoming Mavisto and MuTeo, the duo has worked with Blaklez, Jim Mastershine and Swazi musician, Sands. Their debut EP, Kobanini featuring Trademarks & Megadrumz was well-received across the Dance community. It’s lead track featuring on Traxsource’s Top 10 Afro House Chart.
In 2022, Mavisto and MuTeo signed a deal with FS World Records led by Fisoh Seni. This ushered them into new horizons in their career. Now working with both FS World Records and Warner Music Africa, Mavisto and MuTeo have opened the conversation to the entire world.
