Kool And The Gang’s Curtis Williams Drops New Solo Single
'Ain't Got A Man Tonight' Ft. Rx

Kool And The Gang’s Curtis Williams Drops New Solo Single – After over forty years as a producer, member, and Musical Director of Kool & The Gang, Curtis Williams is doing something he has never done before! Releasing music under his own name.
“People always asked me when I was going to put out my own music, and honestly, the time just had to be right. I’ve spent decades pouring myself into the band, into other artists, into songwriting for other people. But this moment, my debut, it’s been a long time coming. Ain’t Got A Man Tonight is just the beginning. There’s more solo music on the way. I can’t wait for the world to finally hear what I’ve been holding onto.” ~ Curtis Williams
More about ‘Ain’t Got A Man Tonight’
A fresh and summery song with strong pop-dance overtones, Ain’t Got A Man Tonight ft. Rx is out now and serves as the prelude to his debut solo album of original songs, Fitzgerald is Back, out later this year. The single moves along with a pulsating groove between sinuous funk and neo-soul lines, enhanced by the vocals of Canadian singer Rx. A classic “club story,” a back-and-forth between guys and girls in clubs where sometimes a man approaches a woman a little too arrogantly, and perhaps that night, that woman just wants to have fun with her friends.
The song, released by Blue Sonic Media, is accompanied online by a captivating music video directed by Iliona Blanc (Rose and Revolver Films), shot inside Andy’s in West Hollywood, owned by Anderson Paak. A perfect location that perfectly fits the mood of the song and visually conveys the evolution of the lyrics.
Fitzgerald is Back
Over and above being a long-time producer and member of Kool and the Gang, Curtis boasts an impressive list of songwriting credits. These include ‘Cry For Me‘ by The Weeknd. He now takes a bold step forward in his solo career with the release of Fitzgerald is Back. He describes it as “a true sonic journey to rediscover the history of black music. A perfect and balanced blend of Smooth Jazz, Funk, R&B, Soul, Latin influences, danceable grooves, and fusion influences. The many faces of a single soul.”
