Amara & Friends Celebrates Grand Opening – The Amara & Friends Kiddies Salon officially opened its doors on Sunday, 2 November 2025. Welcoming families, media, and influencers to celebrate the launch of Johannesburg’s newest family-friendly salon. Designed for both parents and children.
Located in the heart of Winifred Mandela Precinct Corner, Bryanston, the launch event was filled with laughter, colour, and excitement. Guests experienced what makes Amara & Friends a truly unique space. One where every child feels special, and every parent feels at ease.
Founded by Shela Ledwaba, Amara & Friends was created to be a safe and joyful space. Where boys and girls of all races can enjoy their salon experience while parents take time to care for themselves. “I wanted to build a place where parents can unwind, and kids can feel celebrated; a space where every family feels at home,” says Shela.
Amara & Friends Kiddies Salon Now open
At the launch, children enjoyed the vibrant play area while waiting for their turn in the chair. This, ensuring that salon visits are filled with smiles instead of restlessness. Parents loved the convenience of being able to pop into nearby shops while their little ones were being pampered. The salon also features a barber section for boys. Offering stylish cuts in a comfortable, kid-friendly environment.
The grand opening was a resounding success, with guests enjoying the space, activities for the kids, and a first look at the bright, playful interiors that define the Amara & Friends experience.
