‘Hope’, released 28th August 2020 is a socially conscious song – not your average Rap song. You won’t find the usual negativity and gang bang outlook here, that’s just not what Blaqverse is about which is strongly reflected in his lyrics: “Power feels good but it ain’t permanent” / “My present is crappy but so is my history, but I cant give up….” / ” We’ve got tomorrow, there’s still hope”
The single highlights various social issues that occur in our world. It touches on gender based violence, drugs, the youth, stereotypes, racism and our position as residents relating to the president.
Blaqverse considers himself an advocate to the youth. His focus is on spreading a message of hopefulness and inspiration to the troubled youth of the Eastern Cape and throughout the world.
