Cape Town’s New Indie Music Label STFD Records presents ‘Tuning In’ Volume 1

It goes without saying that none of us saw the year panning out the way it has and whilst Covid and the subsequent lockdowns hit us as hard here at STFD, as everyone else in our industry and like most, are still feeling the heavy after effects.
There was a point through lockdown where Jon Shaban and myself (Kevin Ramage) discussed and decided to finally use the downtime through no studio work or live events to setup the Record Label we’d been dreaming about running for the last few years.
Around August this year, STFD Records was born. Fortunately for us, with the assistance of Just Music, who we started a joint venture with for the label side of the business!
It’s been a whirlwind 3 months, with so much learning and growth, it almost feels like we’ve been doing this for much longer. It also has to be said, the feeling of empowerment that you get from being able to ask questions and learn from industry experts such as the team at Just Music, is really incredible.
Add to this, the joy of getting to work closely with some of the Country’s finest up and coming, as well as established musicians, I mean, what more could you ask for?!
To celebrate these last 3 months, we thought we’d put together a little showcase of some of our first releases, as well as artists we’ve crossed paths with over the years and who are pretty much part of the extended STFD family – ‘Tuning In’ Volume 1
We’ve got some exciting releases planned for next year already, as well as ongoing chats with some amazingly talented musicians, so hopefully, you’ll be seeing Volume 2 within the first quarter of 2021!
