Multi talented singer-songwriter and producer CKay releases second single off his upcoming sophomore EP, ‘Boyfriend’, now available to pre-add and scheduled for release 12th February 2021.
While borrowing from Amapiano, “Kiss Me Like you Miss Me” maintains the overall inspiration and energy of the EP, which is centered around stringed instruments. CKay once again proves his Midas touch by adding a refreshingly worldly approach to the South African-made dance genre.
Each song on the ‘Boyfriend’ EP is inspired by various guitar genres and a variety of stringed instruments. Recorded during lockdown, we get to see the romantic side of the rising star, as he covers strong relational topics.
The first single off the EP ‘Felony’, a beautifully crafted single that effortlessly crosses between Afrobeats and new-age RnB is already proving a favourite and has steadily been climbing the streaming charts since its release, December 2020.
Says CKay: “ It’s an interesting mix of elements I always loved from rock music and south African house. Makes me feel crazy nostalgic when I listen to it.”
