Born in Pietermaritzburg and raised in Brits, Jody Mayhew has earned recognition across South Africa with his soulful performances. At the age of 15, he taught himself to play guitar, and by 18, he was performing on stage. Since then, Jody has released eight songs on various platforms. This includes ‘Travel the World.’ The song also reached the top 3 in an international competition. His first Afrikaans song, ‘Altyd Somer Saam Met Jou,’ received extensive radio airplay. This firmly establishing his presence in the music industry.
With a distinctive style of blending familiar songs with original compositions, Jody’s performances are a fusion of Country, and Afrikaans influences. His music has captivated audiences nationwide, and he has had the honour of opening for renowned South African artists such as Arno Carstens, Roan Ash, Francois van Coke, Juan Boucher, and Dozi.
