Lefika bag three Nominations at 31st Gospel Choice Music Awards – The Gospel Choice Music Awards, formerly known as the Gospel Choice Awards, is an international awards platform. Led by founder & CEO, Dr. J. E. Holmes, they endeavor to celebrate the heritage of Gospel Music and pay tribute to some of today’s most influential individuals and artists. The awards ceremony will take place this June in Atlanta, Georgia, USA.
We are so excited to announce SA’s very own Lefika as the proud nominees for not one, but three categories.
Lefika are nominated in the following categories
- Contemporary Christian Artist of the Year
- Gospel Amapiano song of the year

In addition to Lefika’s nominations, keyboardist, Mr Thabiso Macholo also bagged a nomination for Praise and Worship leader of the year/ Team of the year. Thabiso is a highly talented musician and keyboard player who leads a worshipping team at Holy Ground Family Church based in Palm Springs, Johannesburg south, in Nkandla. Let’s get those votes in for his category too!

Lefika – The music
In 2022, July 22nd, Lefika released their debut single ‘Tseba tsohle.‘ They dedicated endless hours into producing the best music they had ever made. In 2023 they released three singles that have done very well, both internationally and locally. These are ‘Mohau‘, ‘Make a Way‘ and the single ‘Umelusi‘. ‘Make a way‘ was featured in SA Music & Entertainment news magazine shortly after it’s release. The track was nominated last year for the Gospel Choice Music Awards 2024.

First Round of Voting: March 15th – 29th
Finalist Round Voting: April 13th – 26th
Please be advised that Automated Voting is Prohibited. Violators’ votes will be discarded. The Gospel Choice Music Awards platform has no control over your vote status and whether or not this polling site deems it warranted to discard your votes. NO EXCEPTIONS!
Round One Voting
Round 1 voting is unlimited! Voters may cast unlimited votes daily during this phase. Finalists are chosen by unlimited popularity voting in this round. Top nominees, artists obtaining the most votes at the end of this phase, will advance to the Finalists Round. Depending on the number of artists in each category, the finalist count may range from three (3) to twenty plus (20+) in some categories.
Categories not meeting the minimum vote count (at least 500 votes) will NOT advance to the finalist round.
Round Two Voting
Round 2 voting is limited. During the Finalist Round voting phase, voters may only cast one vote during this phase.
Winners for the Gospel Choice Music Awards will be chosen by limited popularity voting in the Finalist Round.
The winners in each category will be acknowledged and awarded at the annual Gospel Choice Music Awards Show. This will be held on Saturday, June 28th in Atlanta, Georgia, US.
