Sharon Katz & The Peace Train were working with border children in San Diego and Tijuana, Mexico for a concert this month, when the Coronavirus Quarantine changed everything.

Her work with the children has continued remotely, with all of them collaborating on a new song, “We Know What To Do (Sabemos Que Hacer)”

“Our big Peace Train border crossing and tour by train in Mexico with children and families is scheduled for October 9-11, 2020.”

Over the past 3 years since Sharon started working with border children, 88% of them have improved their grades in school, and 99% of their parents believe the children will stay in school compared to over 70% of the youth in Tijuana.

It’s important to note that because of Sharon’s music program, 92% of their parents say they’re no longer worried that their children would join gangs or get involved with the drug cartels.  While COVID-19 is shutting most things down, the Mexican drug cartels and trafficking rings are looking for new recruits.

Sharon Katz & the Peace Train’s had a lot of work cancelled including a special performance for Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

Sharon’s earnings help facilitate her humanitarian work, which she performs with her group, solo, and as a duo. Her performances are inspirational.

Sharon & the Peace Train came to prominence in South Africa, in 1992, right after apartheid crumbled, and Nelson Mandela became President.
