Young South African rapper and fusion hip-hop musician Tshegofatso ‘Tshego’ Boshielo, once known as Tag-Team and now known as Tag-Team the Ghost, is reaching for the stars as he expands his brand and his repertoire.
And through his latest single titled ‘Chisa’, the musician is illustrating his intentions with the utmost clarity.
While the word chisa directly translates to mean ‘hot’, it is used more colloquially or as a slang term to describe something in a positive light. The lyrics of this track reflect Tshego’s ambitions as he strives towards a life that is as much on fire as his music.

“The single ‘Chisa’ is about building wealth, travelling and being leader in the industry,” says Tshego. “It is important to be independent and have ways and means of acquiring funds for music, because the music industry is a costly business.”
This drive towards this level of musical status is something which Tshego has had since childhood while growing up in Polokwane. An all-round talent, he plays both guitar and bass guitar, with experience playing in ensembles and bands. With his previous band called ‘5th Element’, Tshego received mentorship from Erik Paliani, former music director, guitarist and producer for Hugh Masekela.
This certainly comes through in the jazz fusion heard in the mellow outro of ‘Chisa’.
On the topic of the new single, Tshego also says, “As someone who wants to travel through music, I thought it would good to mention a few places where I would love to perform one day. I believe I was born to be a leader, so I wanted to convey how much of an influence I would like to have on the industry.”
Following Tag-Team’s mixtape titled ‘The Backroom Mixtape’, as well as his previous single ‘Drip’ which released earlier this year, it is safe to say that the young rapper is gaining momentum as he blasts forward towards his dreams and goals as Tag Team the Ghost.
