Meet the Kings Club Band. – Newly formed, but swiftly risen to fame, the Western Cape based ensemble, Kings Club, is not to be mistaken for a boy band! Quite far from it.
The quintet brings together some of Cape Town’s most talented and skilled instrumentalists, all dressed up in suits and a charismatic charm and are currently serenading guests at an event near you.
Imagine the smooth sounds of saxophone, the enchanting melodies of guitar, the rhythmic beats of cajon, and the solid groove of double bass. Founded by Entertainment Entrepreneur, Justin Paul Jansen, the group was formed to fill a gap in the market and that is what they did. The acoustic music ensemble can perform anywhere at any time, no stage, no lighting, just pure talent.

They also offer a vast repertoire of old and new music! Keeping everyone from your trendy teenager to your grandma entertained. Comprising songs like Jailhouse Rock, Twist and Shout, La Bamba, Sweet Caroline, Flowers and more, Kings Club are sure to create an unforgettable musical experience for all.
Guitarist, Werner Bekker explains, “We love doing a mix of old and new when we select songs. We do everything from The Beatles, to Miley Cyrus, to Frank Sinatra. We try and pick songs that will make people jive and feel alive.”
He continues, “Kings Club is special because we bring a vibe. A party can be a dud until we show up and get everyone dancing and singing along. We get to dance around, have fun and be gregarious, what’s not to love. You could say we are the ultimate curators of vibe.”
Jansen says, “I created this group because whenever I travel to The French Riviera, the level of entertainment on offer at the restaurants and beach clubs make the experience much more memorable and fun. The idea of a band coming right up to your table while having lunch with a group of friends as you sing along to your favorite songs puts a smile on my face.”

The group is made up of musicians Louis Malherbe on percussion, Geraint Bojé on bass, Werner Bekker and Liam McDermott on guitar and vocals, and interchangeable Raivan Hansman, Matt Ehrenreich and Duncan Johnson on saxophone.
From weddings to corporate functions, birthdays and more, Kings Club add a touch of sophistication to every occasion. Jansen adds, “The concept works really well for intimate events. Kings Club is successful because they love what they do and are really charming and charismatic. The guys know how to create a special atmosphere and engage with guests in a way that makes it hard not to join in on the fun.”
What’s more, the gentlemen are dressed to nines in tailor made suits by House of Crouse.
Kings Club have rapidly become the country’s premiere live performance group. With their recent success, the ensemble have caught the attention of industry heavyweights across the world. They will be embarking on an international tour within the next few months.
