Olympia, WA based Melodic Punk Rockers, Souls Worn Thin Unleash Digital Release of ‘Kill Your TV’ via Epictronic Records

Album Review by David 'Devo' Oosthuizen

Out for release today via Epictronic Records, we see Olympia, WA (US) Punk Rockers, Souls Worn Thin unleash their Album, ‘Kill Your TV’,

With ‘Kill Your TV’, Souls Worn Thin offers a scathing rebuke of the manufactured division permeating society with the same ferocity they rebuke craft beer. The band has been known to deliver their brand of melodic rock/punk simmered in the muddy footprints of the Puget Sound, where they hail from. Their music has an almost tangible Pacific Northwest feel that vacillates between aggressive and cheeky, making it an instant hit among fans of the genre.

David’s Take

As a lifelong fan of Punk Rock, it was an absolute pleasure to get to know, and listen to Washington-based Souls Worn Thin. Described as “working class Punk made by three working class musicians”, I relished in listening to their 2021 debut album ‘Kill Your TV’ that was recorded at Magic Mix Studios with Daum Duo and I already cannot wait for their sophomore album ‘Treason‘ which they just finished recording, currently being mastered by Howie Wienberg Studios.

Delivering 10 potent tracks with an undeniable rebellious spirit, the trio consisting of Stephen Wayne (Vocals & Guitar), Josh White (Drums), and Cody Sanders (Guitar) confidently convey an exciting, gritty fusion of melodic Punk with driving Rock riffs and rhythms that bring some Grungy elements to the mix in songs like ‘Comply’, and even more obvious on their Nirvana-rendition of ‘Breed’, available on the Spotify & Bandcamp album version.

To my ear and delight, songs like ‘Kill Your TV’ and ‘Ain’t No Life’ capably carriage earnest feels, reminiscent of a hearty Punk Rock amalgamated sandwich, filled with tasty influences and sounds ranging from ‘Bad Religion’ to ‘The Bouncing Souls’, ‘Rise Against’ and even ‘No Fun At All’.

Fans of the genre, take note and take a listen, as the SWT boys take no prisoners and deliver a well-worth listening experience, leaving us wanting more – bring on the new album ‘Treason‘ already!
