Join DKMS in their fight against Blood cancer

Dedicated to the fight against life-threatening blood disorders and blood cancers.

Join DKMS in their fight against Blood cancer – In 2020, a German based NGO named DKMS and the South African Sunflower Fund joined forces in a partnership that had the potential to change the history of stem cell transplants in South Africa and globally. In March 2021, an amalgamation of the entities was announced, birthing DKMS Africa. Combining two histories of similar organisations to give hope to patients.

With a collective 51-year history of saving lives, DKMS Africa pride themselves on being the premier organisation in Africa to recruit donors. Their mission is to create awareness about blood stem cell donation and to maintain a global registry of donors who are representative of the world’s diversity and ethnic background. Their goal is to recruit an ethnically diverse registry of donors committed to helping anyone in need of a life-saving transplant.

Every 27 seconds someone in the world is diagnosed with blood cancer and blood disorders ~ You could be someone’s second chance at life.

DKMS are dedicated to the fight against blood cancer and blood disorders. They create awareness and recruit blood stem cell donors to provide people with a second chance at life. DKMS also raise funds to cover donor registration costs, and support the improvement of blood cancer therapies through their own research.

They also support patients from day one of their diagnosis. DKMS provide family and friends with a positive way to get involved. This, by organising bone marrow donor drives that can enhance donor search. They rally community support and provide hope.
