Could You Lend Miist a smile? – After becoming the first Chinese artist to break into Billboard’s Pop/AC Top 25, multilingual singer-songwriter Miist returns with a powerful new single. ‘Could You Lend Me a Smile’ is a global anthem of connection, compassion, and hope.
Now available across all platforms, the single brings together voices from five continents in 15 languages, with contributions from artists who collectively hold over 60 Grammy Awards and nominations. But the heart of the song lies in its message. Sometimes, a simple act, like offering a smile can make a world of difference.
Inspired by a real-life story of a man in Tokyo who died alone and was only discovered weeks later, ‘Could You Lend Me a Smile‘ emerged as both a song and a movement. It forms part of Miist’s non-profit World Smile Initiative, which uses music, storytelling, and community action to tackle the global loneliness epidemic.

From being abandoned at the age of five and surviving terminal cancer in her twenties, to discovering her musical gift at 34, Miist’s story is as remarkable as her rise.
Since launching her debut album in 2024, she’s collaborated with the likes of Santana, Curtis Williams (Kool & The Gang), and Grammy-winning producer Narada Michael Walden. She’s also the host of Make Me Smile with Miist. A podcast dedicated to resilience, creativity, and the healing power of music.
