Yungblud is currently embarking on the Idols – The World Tour throughout 2026. This massive headlining tour supports his fourth studio album, “Idols,” and features his largest arena shows to date across Australia, the UK, Ireland, Canada, and the United States.
Idols – The World Tour : Birmingham
The Birmingham concert held on Thursday, 23 April 2026, was a major highlight of the UK leg of the Idols – The World Tour. Performing at the Utilita Arena Birmingham, Yungblud delivered what many fans and critics described as one of the most emotional shows of his career.
The show is being hailed as a defining moment for Yungblud due to the raw, unfiltered emotion he displayed while honoring his late mentor, Ozzy Osbourne. The night was opened by the Mexican rock trio The Warning and the UK band The Molotovs, setting a high-octane tone for the evening. The absolute standout moment was a 10-minute rendition of the Black Sabbath ballad “Changes.”
Yungblud overwhelmed with emotion
Before starting, Yungblud pointed to the ceiling and addressed the “hometown of the Prince of Darkness,” telling the crowd he had been “sh**ting himself for days” to play the song in Birmingham. As the piano intro played, he became visibly overwhelmed and broke down in tears behind the mic. The arena went into a respectful silence before thousands of fans began chanting “OZZY! OZZY!” and took over the vocals to help him finish the track.
This performance was particularly poignant because it took place just miles from where Ozzy grew up in Aston. It served as a full-circle moment following their close friendship and Ozzy’s final farewell show at Villa Park the previous year. Yungblud has often called Ozzy his “North Star.“ Growing up, as a misunderstood “crazy” lad, seeing Ozzy’s unapologetic wildness gave him hope that there was a place for someone like him in the world. It turned out the world was his for the taking!
The Ozzy and Yungblud dynamic
They first met in 2022 when Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne made a cameo in Yungblud’s music video for “The Funeral.“ Behind the scenes, they instantly hit it off, with Ozzy telling him, “Never apologize for anything. They will understand you later.“ Ozzy famously gifted Yungblud a cross necklace that the younger artist wore every day for luck. In a full-circle moment just before Ozzy’s final farewell concert in July 2025, Yungblud returned the gesture by gifting Ozzy a custom-made stainless steel cross.
Following Ozzy’s passing in July 2025, Yungblud vowed to perform “Changes” at every single show for the rest of his life to keep Ozzy’s spirit alive.
The concert was high-energy from the start, with Yungblud walking out to “War Pigs.“ The production featured exploding tickertape, massive flames, and confetti that filled the sold-out arena. During “Fleabag”, Yungblud brought a fan named James onto the stage to perform with him. The set was heavy on songs from his 2026 album Idols, bridged by others.

Below is a brief review of the show in the words of Scott Andrews who attended the concert with Mum, Laura and Dad, Steve. Steve is a friend of my Son Kieron, who lives in the UK. Scott: On Thursday the 23rd of April I saw Yungblud perform at the Utilita Arena, Birmingham, England. This was my 3rd time seeing him and it was amazing, possibly one of the best times. There was an amazing setlist. The crowd was the loudest I have ever heard them, and the atmosphere was 100% better than my usual gigs. One thing that really struck me was that he played a cover of “Changes” by Ozzy Osborne. I knew he was playing this on tour but it was even more special to see him play it in Birmingham. The birthplace of Ozzy and Black Sabbath. Yungblud and Ozzy were close friends and before singing, he started to cry, it was a very emotional thing to watch and it really touched me. Overall, I think that Yungblud is an ever-growing star and it really shows in his concerts. I loved this show and cannot wait for the next tour.
