Sakhele Mzalazala Announces book ‘What is Copyright? Our Song’
An animated educational publication designed specifically for music students, primary school learners, young adults and adults
Sakhele Mzalazala Announces latest book ‘What is Copyright? Our Song’ – Music rights consultant, author, and entrepreneur Sakhele Mzalazala is proud to announce the release of his latest book “What is Copyright? Our Song.” A first of its kind animated educational publication. The book, designed specifically for music students, primary school learners, young adults and adults who don’t know much about the industry rights. The book introduces children to the important concepts of Copyright, Music Rights, and Creative Ownership through engaging storytelling and relatable characters.
‘What is Copyright? Our Song’
For many years, music rights education has been introduced too late. Often after artists have already entered the industry without understanding how to protect their work. Sakhele Mzalazala believes that the solution lies in educating children at an early age. Allowing them to grow up with a clear understanding of intellectual property, ownership, and the value of creativity.
Published independently through SM Communications, the book has been completed and is ready for printing and distribution. Written in a simple, fun, and interactive format, the story encourages children not only to read but also to act out the characters. To engage with the lessons in a practical and memorable way.
What makes this project even more special is that the animated characters featured in the book are inspired by Sakhele’s own children and their friends. This makesthe storytelling authentic, relatable, and child centered.
“This book is more than just a publication it is a movement. We cannot continue to wait until artists are adults before teaching them about their rights. The future belongs to our children, and it is time for them to understand the value of creativity and ownership from an early age. In fact, it is time for our children to teach us and help protect the creative industries for generations to come.” ~ Sakhele Mzalazala.
