Ahead of her wedding, former Miss SA and Miss Universe 2017, Demi-Leigh Tebow (nee Nel-Peters) came home to South Africa to spend some quality time with friends and family. Naturally, she chose Sun City as the place to escape for a girls’ get away with her close friends.
Demi-Leigh and five of her friends spent four fun filled days at the iconic resort in December before her wedding to Tim Tebow, former American quarterback and current professional baseball outfielder for New York Mets minor league affiliates. The pair were married in Franschhoek on 20 January 2020.
Asked why she chose Sun City for her ladies-only, pre-wedding celebration, she said: “Sun City is very special to me. It is where I was crowned Miss South Africa in 2017 – it always feels like home away from home. I have developed a special relationship with Sun City and Sun International, during my time as Miss SA.
“I wanted to spend time with my friends to celebrate my upcoming wedding, and Sun City and The Palace was a natural choice. We get to do all of the things we love doing and be surrounded by ‘jungle’ and even go on a ‘safari’, which is so true to the South African experience.”
